Five Year Retention Plan Table of Contents

Five Year Retention Plan: Program Timeline and Anticipated Impact
| |
|
In Table 1, we propose an implementation schedule for recommendations in action items B and C.
In Table 2, we estimate the number of students, by cohort, retained through selected interventions. The purpose of this table is to demonstrate the necessity for a comprehensive set of programs to improve retention. One or two programs alone will not have the impact required to raise our graduation rates by six percentage points from our current rate of 74%. For each percentage point of increase, we must retain approximately 25 students within a cohort which translates to 150 students, per cohort, for six percentage points of change. Therefore, without continued and comprehensive programming and research, we can not achieve our goal of an 85% six-year graduation rate in ten years. For a detailed description of the student subgroups, the interventions, and anticipated retention impact, please see Appendix D, section 3.
